Turmeric – Mild flavor and bright color
Turmeric is a flowering plant, Curcuma longa, from the ginger family. It is a key ingredient in many Asian dishes, giving it a mustard-like, earthy aroma and a sharp, slightly bitter taste. Turmeric is also a key ingredient in curry powders.
